Meet the Conductor

We are excited to introduce and welcome Liubov Brunton as our Music Director and Conductor of the production Lamb of God by Rob Gardner.  We are so fortunate to have her experience, background, and inspiring faith to direct our interfaith choir and orchestra.

Memorable Scripture:

Psalms 98:4-6

 "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth:

Make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

Sing unto the Lord with the harp;

with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.

With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the Lord, the King."

Heartfelt Tribute from Liubov

 “What truly touches my heart is the warmth and kindness of the Walla Walla community. The people here are not only welcoming but also incredibly talented, and I feel so blessed to be surrounded by such a rich tapestry of musicians. The local community of musicians make it possible for us to come together and create special events that bring joy and inspiration to everyone involved. The collaborative spirit in Walla Walla is one of the greatest treasures I’ve encountered, and it’s a joy to contribute to this vibrant musical culture.  The main goal of my work is to glorify the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, through music. I sincerely hope and believe that this large project, "Lamb of God," will bring joy to many people, strengthen their faith in Jesus, and inspire a great hope in His saving power!”

Musical Journey: A Story of Passion and Faith

Liubov’s musical journey to the Walla Walla Valley was a desire to follow God’s calling to relocate and reunite her family with her son already living here.  The transition was not without its challenges, particularly with the English language. However, through hard work and perseverance, she adapted to her new environment and embraced the opportunities before her.

Her first music-related job in the United States was with the prison ministry in Walla Walla in 2006, where she served as a volunteer for ten years.  She played the violin and sang, immersing herself in the American hymn tradition. Soon after, she was invited to join the Walla Walla University orchestra and, within months, became part of the Walla Walla Symphony Orchestra. In the same year, she opened her own music studio, offering instruction in violin, viola, cello, string bass, piano, voice, conducting, and guitar.

Liubov became a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Village Church in 2008, where she became an active member of the church choir under the direction of Dr. Terry Koch. He encouraged Liubov to achieve a doctorate from the same institution where he completed a Doctor of Sacred Music, Graduate Theological Foundation University in Sarasota, Florida. The music community in Walla Walla welcomed her with open arms, filling her heart with joy and providing numerous opportunities for musical engagement.

In 2011, she formed her own orchestra, “Violin Praise.” They have had the privilege of traveling to Belgium, Hawaii, and many local churches, performing Christmas and Easter concerts. Over the years, the group grew, fostering the development of many new musicians.

When Dr. Koch retired, the North Pacific Union Conference invited her to step in as Music Director at the Village Church, where she now oversees the church choir, handbells, children’s choir, and the “Violin Praise” orchestra.

Throughout her life, Liubov dedicates herself to using her musical gifts to praise God and to share His Gospel with the world. Music has always been more than a vocation to her; it is her way of bringing joy, peace, and love to the hearts of those she encounters, helping to spread His message through every note and every chord.
