Dr. Sally Singer Tuttle, Cellist

British-born Sally Singer Tuttle, noted by The Strad for her "transforming sweep of gossamer beauty," has performed as a soloist with orchestras in New York, Connecticut, Washington, Idaho, Bulgaria and Russia. Live chamber music highlights include performing at the Tanglewood Music Center, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Alice Tully Hall, NY, gaining first prize in the John Ireland Chamber Music Competition, UK, BBC Television appearances and a live festival recording feature on NPR’s “Performance Today”. Recordings include three albums with the Volta Piano Trio (formerly the Icicle Creek Piano Trio), which were highly acclaimed by Gramophone, The Strad, and Fanfare magazines, the American Record Guide and others, under the label Con Brio recordings. Dr. Singer gained undergraduate honors from the Royal Northern College of Music, UK and received her doctorate in cello performance from Stony Brook University, NY, where she studied with Timothy Eddy. She has given masterclasses and clinics in the UK, Australia, Ghana and throughout the US, and currently teaches at Whitman College and Walla Walla University, WA. Sally performs on an English cello made in 1790.
